So... You've never belly danced before, or you are a beginner level belly dancer brand new to Datura Online. Welcome!

This 4 Week course is designed to get you acquainted with a) basic movements in the main styles of belly dance and b) many of our fabulous Datura Online Teachers.

You'll finish the series knowing a little bit about a lot of things, and we hope this introduction can guide you to find whatever teacher or style is calling you most!

This program features two sessions per week:

One session will be a full class with one of our teachers. This will be a complete class straight through, with warm up and cool down included. Each full class is from a different dancer.

The other session is our mix & match compilation of a complete practice using various segments on our site from multiple teachers. You will get a warm up, technique segment, and a cool down. Both the classes and the compilations fit into one hour time blocks.

For this program, you'll need a yoga mat, water bottle and zils.

Begin at the beginning with a classic belly dance class from Sedona Soulfire: our Cabaret style teacher.

In the mix and match session this week you will get a pep talk from Amy Sigil to begin your practice. You will warm up energetically with Sedona to get the body ready for dance. Then you will practice basic head, chest, hip, and shoulder isolations designed specifically for belly dancers, followed by belly roll practice with Zoe Jakes. Ashley will lead you through a cool down to end the session.

Belly Dance Basics # 2: Egyptian, Hip Circles and Twists

This workshop will be focusing on some of the most fundamental belly dance movements. This is the perfect intro class for someone new to belly dance or a more advanced dancer looking to fine-tune the basics. In this class you will learn the Egyptian Basic, various hip circles, and hip twists. We will do all movements in place and then travel with them as well. Each movement is broken down, drilled, and then finally combined with complimentary movements and danced!

Basic Isolations

In this spotlight we will break down and drill all of the basic, head, chest, hip, and shoulder isolations. This is wonderful for anyone new to belly dance or the more advanced dancer looking to keep their isolation technique sharp and strong.This spotlight is a part of Sedona's American Cabaret style workshop: "Interesting and Innovative Isolations".
