Q: Do you make your own costuming, if so what are your favorite aspects of the process? If not, where do you like to shop / who are your favorite designers?
Rachel Brice: I love to make my own costumes. For me, belly dance is also a way for me to be able to show what I've made, it's at least 1/2 of the fun, as is digging through junk piles to find amazing, broken, rusty treasures. I'm also a huge fan of Mardi Love and Foolproof.
Sedona Soulfire: No I do not make my own costumes. I do have grand visions of costuming in my head but have not cultivated any sewing or crafting skills. For most of my costumes I usually begin with a particular theme/style/idea/design in my head, I draw it or gather pictures of certain elements and then pass this along to a costumer. Bella of Istanbul has done an amazing job of making many of my visions come to life. I am also currently working with Dark Fusion Boutique, Poison Babe, and NagaSita.
