New to Belly Dance? Interested in the fundamentals? This program was designed for the complete beginner or anyone interested in fundamental belly dance technique.

Never set foot into a dance studio before? Great! Our knowledgable and friendly teachers lead you through the basic moves of belly dance in a variety of belly dance styles. And in your online studio, you get to go at your own pace!

By the end of this month-long practice, you will learn how to have graceful hands and arms, how to do a belly roll, a shimmy, snake arms, and various hip and chest isolations. You'll also learn some traveling movements and combinations. Welcome to belly dance!

This program features two sessions of Datura Online classes per week. Feel free to shift it around to whichever two days work best for your schedule. You're also more than welcome to repeat classes as much as you want or supplement this program with any other classes on the site.

Each of these program sessions will run between 1 and 1.5 hours.

Let's start off right by learning some basic belly dance movements with Sedona! You'll be learning how to move your hips through some of the most popular belly dance movements: the Egyptian Basic, hip circles, and hip twists. In Session 2 you'll go over some basic belly dance footwork and traveling movements, as well as some snakey upper body movements!

Belly Dance Basics # 2: Egyptian, Hip Circles and Twists

This workshop will be focusing on some of the most fundamental belly dance movements. This is the perfect intro class for someone new to belly dance or a more advanced dancer looking to fine-tune the basics. In this class you will learn the Egyptian Basic, various hip circles, and hip twists. We will do all movements in place and then travel with them as well. Each movement is broken down, drilled, and then finally combined with complimentary movements and danced!

Beginner's Tribal Fusion Series: Class 1

This class is designed for the beginning belly dancer or anyone looking to revisit and practice some basic belly dance essentials. In this video, we will start by breaking down belly dance posture. Then we’ll work with some basic footwork and traveling, hip locks, upper body isolations, and snake arms. Have a mat ready as we’ll begin with a short yoga and Pilates conditioning sequence.
